 Lee Dean entered public service as a Los Angeles Police Officer following his enlistment as a U.S. Army air traffic controller. This career choice led to the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department where he served as legal advisor and commanded the internal investigations unit, eventually earning promotion through the ranks to Chief Deputy before leaving to become Chief of Police in the central and southern California cities of Vacaville and San Bernardino, where he worked closely with civic and community groups to reduce crime and improve the quality of life.

Mr. Dean has lectured and taught extensively, combining practical experience and theory with the study of community policing, leadership, supervision, internal investigations, and organizational development. He serves as an expert advisor to state and municipal agencies seeking to integrate law enforcement services, training and organizational development. Mr. Dean is a member of the State Bar of California. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice from CSU Sacramento and is a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Institute.
